I am 63 years Old and recently retired. I have been painting all my life and have loved putting colours on different surfaces using all types of medium. I live at Warrandyte North which has a strong Artist community and have lived there for over 20 years.
I have recently used pure ground rock from around Alice Springs in central Australia to produce some paintings. I love using natural colours because they are so vibrant. I have used Ink, Gouache, Oil Water Colour, Oil pastels and in some instances ground rock with different shades of Ochre. I have also completed some seascapes using Oil and Gouache.
Many of my works have been created around Alice Springs at Artists camps, specifically Palm Springs, Mpwellare, Running Waters and Finke River over the past five years. All these places are the spiritual home of the Aboriginal people of the area who inhabit the land. I was fortunate to sometimes visit sacred sites with the elders who explained some of the dreamtime stories to me.
My Studio is at Northcote and the studio has other Artists of different Styles. Main Artist is Marcus Wills who won the Archibald Prize.
I am currently being taught by Vicki McInnes. I have exhibited my paintings at Strathdon, Camberwell, Hobsons bay, Warrandyte, Warranwood, Knox, Mornington, linden Postcard and Bayside Art Shows. . These shows have been very successful for me.
